Hello today is my birthday! Today our baby turns three! He really isn't a baby anymore but he is my youngest and I guess I am trying to hold on to that stage.
It's hard to believe that three years have gone bye but it has and they have been wonderful for the most part. Malcolm has had a few minor medical issues but we worked through them with medical and prayful support.
Malcolm has been a joy and wonderful addition to our family. He has made us think, laugh, and love even more since his birth.
I try to have activities for him each day, keeping track of them im my Daily Lesson worksheets I use for the other kids. Right now we are working on recognizing objects using flash cards and giving him choices between them. Ex: Can you give me the car?
I continue to give him exercises for his fine motor skills. Yesterday, he was taking these puff balls out of the bag and putting them into the pecil box. I only opened the lid a tiny bit so it would be a challenge. I made a "blip" sound as he put them in and he would laugh his head off.
This little three year old loves music, he has a basket full of different instruments and he and his sister use. He likes the microphones that make the voice echo. They are great for getting kids with DS to vocalize. He also likes whistles, harmonicas as well.
These two never miss the opportunity for a jam session.
He has come around full circle with his eating and is now a pro at manipulating his food. He had trouble chewing when he began solids and needed a lot of oral stimulation. A nook brush and some simple squeezing of his cheeks was the beginning therapy and those sensories woke up pretty quickly.
Yes, my baby is growing up and he inspires me everyday. he inspires all of us to work hard at loving and serving each other. My boy is three today!!
