Planned Parenthood, No More

                                                                 

  Say no to Planned Parenthood which was started by an evil minded women named Margaret Sanger. She called minority children 'weeds'. Well, I do disagree my, children are wonderful flowers. I am glad that I became a member of the Catholic Church  and embraced it's teachings on life because without that I would have missed out on the opportunity to meet each one of these beautiful faces who do not burden but enhance my life. 

  Do not buy into the modern day lies about birth control and abortion which treat women and their fertility as a disease. Their is no problem that cannot be overcome with the grace of God. We have struggled through hard times but even then it has been beneficial to us and drawn us closer together. The family is under major attack today and why do you think this is?  I'll tell you because it's just about the best thing going.

 Just say no to birth control, founded by socialists. Just say no to abortion, founded by elitist minded people. Say no to population control and the people who say the earth is better off without us.  How backwards these racist, atheist, people are with their eugenics. It is the flaws within us that perfect us spiritually. A people genetically enhanced is like plastic people. Be real embrace life with all of it's imperfections.

Spring Sunshine

I actually made some progress in the yard. It didn't feel like work at all. I was just glad to be out in the warm spring sunshine.

Hands to Work, Hearts to God

                                          

 I have been wanting to do some hand work but time and circumstances just hasn't allowed for it. The weeks are so busy with other activities. Today, I finally got to take some time to help the girls do a small project. I saw a cute felt bunny in a frame here at Behind My Red Door and thought this would be a cute spring theme.

 Abbey, got busy and within an hour she had a finished product. She has great hand-eye coordination for a five year old. Hannah had the idea of adding the carrot and the rose. Not bad for beginners.

Mischief

  Eliana has been feeling better, she had to be seen three times by the doc this week and she has to go back on Monday just to be on the safe side. She is nursing again and is making up for lost time. Today, she showed her true colors, after her brother folded some of the laundry she decided to undo the job. Everyone was so glad to see her feeling better and being a little mischievous, we all began to laugh and she decided to do the same!

                                  

                 It was so good to see her smile again.

                                

Spring = Life

                                     

 Yesterday, I set up our bookcase with some Spring themed books. I didn't get a chance to sit down and write or take pictures because Baby Eliana is sick, possible RSV. We took her to the doctor today and she sent us home with the nubulizer and Albutiral. Please Pray for her. This morning I was able to get on the computer a minute and it was so upsetting to hear the latest Obama news. I was so frustrated but I refuse to let this steal my peace and joy or take the focus off of my beloved Jesus. I was thinking, " How can I post something as simple as a spring bookcase, when something so awful is happening but then I was inspired ...  I want to teach my children about life and about how Jesus conquers sin and death. What better way than to use the analogy of Springtime!!!

                                      

  The title of my blog, " A New Springtime" was chosen because of the words of Pope John Paul 2. In the current times of darkness we must hang on to the words we speak at Holy Mass," Heaven and Earth are full of God's glory." Obama and his party do not have power over Jesus Christ. Just as in the dead of winterr when we think the barren trees, the frozen ground and the ugly landscape have prevailed, something even greater takes place. We begin to see budding trees, bulbs shooting up from the soil, and sprouts popping up! The culture of life begins to appear, A New Springtime, that cannot deny that life has prevailed over death. When we ponder the desert and darkness of lent we know why we deny ourselves. It is because we have a merciful and loving Savior Jesus Christ who gives us new life. We are His buds, His bulbs, His sprouts and we too will wave in the warm spring breeze. We will wave our faith, The CULTURE OF LIFE, high above any clouds of gloom.  We are anti-contraception, anti -abortion and we are open to life in the world today. We are open to life as the Church teaches us to be. We are the New Springtime JP2 was taking about!!!  

                                     

As we wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, The kingdom, the power ad the glory are  His Forever!!

Quick & Simple Planners

                                   

 I have some ideas I would like to jot down for next year, so I decided to make a couple of quick and simple planning books. I like to plan out a monthly themes.  For example: March- Science/Planets, History/ Civil War, Art/ Collages etc. To make the planners you will need:

• 2 sheets of card stock 8.5 x 11
• 10 sheets of regular printer paper
• stapler
• decorative ribbon
• stickers or chip board accents
• glue

 Very simple assembly, put the regular paper in between the 2 pieces of card stock and staple the left end 3 times. Glue your decorative ribbon to cover the staples and decorate the cover with your embellishments. Label the tops of your pages in the right hand corner for each month that you need to plan for. This one I will use for 2010.

                                    

 I made the one below to take some notes on what we have left for the rest of this school year.  I only put in paper for March through June.

                                    

                                  

  I posted on this paper a while back. I really like the quality of it and the prints are so cheery!  It is great for spring and nature projects, too. Speaking of nature, we read a couple of cute books this morning. Two thrift store finds of course.

                                     

 The baby animal book is an older book and I just love the way it was put together.  It used a lot of questions to get the kids to engage and to look at the pictures in order to come up with the answers. The other sweet little book is a Flower Fairy Book. The boys kind of snickered at this one but I think they liked the illustrations.

Typical Morning, Etc.

                                   

   Today has been a typical homeschool day. We are finishing up our studies on electricity and we will be moving on to the planets and sky for this month. We are still working on the Civil War in history. Max, in the picture above is coloring  some pictures of abolitionists from our History Pockets Book. We are really enjoying these books . They contain just enough information and an activity to bring the lesson to life. We are such a hands on family if we just read it, I doubt if we would retain what we've learned as well. While all of this was going on, Baby Eliana was taking a little siesta after nursing. Ahhhh, how I wish I was able to join her.

                                   

    The past couple of weeks have been slow moving due to hubby and two of the kiddos having pneumonia. Everyone will be finished their antibiotics today! Hopefully, we will all be on the up swing now. Hubby had started preparing the boys room to be painted but that only got so far. When he got sick he couldn't do anything. Taking care of everyone and being a bit under the weather myself, I did ot manage to do much else.

     Over the weekend, since folks were starting to feel better I managed to redo the little reading corner upstairs. I had changed it before but nothing matched. I had put a country style  settee from the living room and a glossy white bookcase from the girls  room in the space. It was good for a temporary fix but it was a bit too mixed up for me. I was going to  try and reupholstercouch, but then reality sank in. I decided to work with the existing country style and use what I already had. I am getting a littler wiser. Here is the recycled space.

                                   

     I am truly enjoying the cozy little space. I am actually the one who spends the most time in this area anyway because the computer is across from the settee. The shelf used to be in our living room but we were given a bigger couch and it was becoming too crowded. It was an easy fix.
